PMAY: Haryana government has taken significant steps towards providing affordable housing to urban poor and middle class families under the PM Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0). To realize the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide “roof over the head of every family”, this scheme will provide financial assistance to millions of people in the next five years.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, Haryana has taken decisive decisions for the effective implementation of this scheme. The 17th meeting of the State Level Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (SLSMC) for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) and the first meeting for PMAY-U 2.0 was held under the chairmanship of State Chief Secretary Dr Vivek Joshi.
In the meeting, Dr Joshi directed to ensure transparency in fund distribution and emphasized on implementing OTP based verification system to prevent any financial irregularities. Along with this, he also asked to conduct a detailed survey to evaluate the real condition of the beneficiaries and to ensure that the banks do not create any hindrance in providing loans to them.
