India had a bad start and lost 3 wickets for the first 12 runs. After this, Hardik Pandya (53 runs, 30 balls, 4 fours, 4 sixes) and Shivam Dubey (53 runs, 34 balls, 7 fours, 2 sixes) shared 87 runs for the sixth wicket to take the team to a strong score. England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to bowl first, which was proved right by fast bowler Saqib Mahmood. Hardik Pandya hit a flurry of fours and sixes against Cars and Rashid as soon as he came. He completed his half-century in just 27 balls and strengthened the Indian innings. However, he was caught out off Overton. Shivam Dubey also completed his half-century in 31 balls but was run out on the last ball of the innings.

England had a blistering start and scored 62/1 in the powerplay. But after this the Indian bowlers changed the course of the match. Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav bowled brilliantly and pushed England on the backfoot.
England kept struggling till the last over but the entire team was bowled out for 166 runs and India won the match by 15 runs and won the series.
