Dense fog continues to disrupt daily life across several districts in Uttar Pradesh, significantly reducing visibility and hindering transportation. Many trains have been delayed by 5 to 7 hours due to the heavy fog. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for dense fog in several districts, while a rain alert has been issued for certain areas today, i.e., Thursday.
Coldest Temperatures Recorded
On Wednesday, Fatehpur experienced the lowest minimum temperature at 6.4°C, followed by Bijnor at 7.2°C and Meerut at 7.5°C. In Lucknow, the morning was marked by chilling cold due to dense fog and cold winds. The maximum temperature during the day was recorded at 19.3°C, while the minimum stood at 11.5°C. Though the fog lifted later, overcast skies ensured limited sunlight throughout the day.
Rain and Weather Warnings
The IMD forecasts no major change in temperatures for Lucknow on Thursday. Light showers are expected in parts of Lucknow and nearby regions. Western Uttar Pradesh is likely to experience thunderstorms with rain. Additionally, a warning has been issued for dense fog during the early morning and late-night hours in these areas.
Fog Alert in Several Districts
Dense fog is predicted to persist in many areas across Uttar Pradesh until Friday. The affected districts include Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Jaunpur; and Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Agra, Bijnor, Amroha, among others.
