School Closed: Holidays Extended for All Schools in UP, Relief for Students of Classes 1 to 8, Order Issued

Lucknow: Due to the severe cold, holidays have been extended for students of Classes 1 to 8 across all schools in Uttar Pradesh. Schools operated under and recognized by the Basic Education Council will remain closed on Thursday and Friday, with no teaching activities taking place.

Basic Education Director Pratap Singh Baghel has issued instructions that while students will have a holiday, teachers, Shiksha Mitras (para-teachers), instructors, and non-teaching staff must report to the schools. They are required to attend to departmental and other administrative responsibilities during this period.

It is worth noting that winter vacations were initially declared until January 14 for these schools. Although they reopened on Wednesday, the cold weather has led to the decision to grant an additional two-day holiday for students.
