Myanmar Earthquake today: There are seven tectonic plates inside the earth. These plates keep rotating continuously. When these plates collide with each other, rub against each other, climb over each other or move away from each other, then the ground starts shaking. This is called an earthquake.
The earth shook with two strong earthquakes in Myanmar on Friday. These tremors were so strong that they were felt even in Thailand’s capital Bangkok.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the intensity of the first earthquake tremor on the Richter scale was 7.2 while the second was 7.0.

There are seven tectonic plates inside the earth. These plates keep rotating continuously. When these plates collide with each other, rub against each other, climb over each other or move away from each other, then the ground starts shaking. This is called an earthquake. The Richter scale is used to measure earthquakes. Which is called Richter Magnitude Scale.

Richter Magnitude Scale is from 1 to 9. The intensity of an earthquake is measured from its center i.e. epicenter. That is, the energy coming out from that center is measured on this scale. 1 means low intensity energy is coming out. 9 means the highest. Extremely frightening and destructive wave. These get weaker as they move away. If the intensity is 7 on the Richter scale, then there is a strong tremor within a radius of 40 kilometers around it.

How much intensity is how dangerous?
How dangerous is an earthquake? It is measured on the Richter scale. In an earthquake, every scale of the Richter scale is 10 times more dangerous than the previous scale.
- An earthquake of 0 to 1.9 magnitude is detected only by seismograph.
- There is a slight tremor when an earthquake of 2 to 2.9 magnitude occurs.
- In an earthquake of 3 to 3.9 magnitude, it feels as if a truck has passed by.
- In an earthquake of 4 to 4.9 magnitude, windows can break. Frames hanging on the walls can fall.
- In an earthquake of 5 to 5.9 magnitude, the furniture of the house can shake.
- In an earthquake of 6 to 6.9 magnitude, the foundation of the buildings can crack, the upper floors can get damaged.
- In an earthquake of 7 to 7.9 magnitude, buildings collapse. Pipelines burst underground.
- In an earthquake of 8 to 8.9 magnitude, along with buildings, big bridges can also fall.
- In an earthquake of 9 or more magnitude, there is a lot of destruction. If someone is standing in the field, he will see the earth shaking. If the sea is nearby, a tsunami can occur.
