Haryana: 292 extension lecturers jobs in danger, know the full story

Jobs of 292 extension lecturers working in government colleges in Haryana are in danger. The reason for this is that these lecturers have done PhD from three such universities of Rajasthan, which have been declared ineligible by UGC. In this case, on the order of the High Court, the Haryana Higher Education Department has issued a notice to the principals of the colleges and sought a reply. It is worth noting that these lecturers have been serving for more than 12 years.

A recent case has come from Ambala

A recent case has come to light from Ambala, where an extension lecturer named Manju Bala was removed from the job as her PhD degree was found invalid. Manju Bala approached the court against this. The High Court, while hearing this case, issued a notice to the Haryana Higher Education Department on January 22. In this, a list of all extension lecturers who have done PhD from Singhania University in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, OPJS University in Churu and Sunrise University in Alwar was sought. For this, instructions were given to file a reply within 14 days.

Response sought in two days

After this, the Haryana Higher Education Department has prepared a list of 292 such extension lecturers of the state. On January 28, the department wrote a letter to various government colleges of the state and directed these extension lecturers to reply within two days.

After this development, the concern has increased among the affected lecturers, because despite serving for more than 12 years, their jobs are now in danger. Now the further decision will depend on the court hearing and the response of the Higher Education Department.
