The IMD has said that Delhi-NCR will remain cloudy tomorrow and light to moderate rainfall is expected, which will give relief to people from the heat.

A similar weather system formed over Gujarat helped the monsoon advance into the northwestern states including Rajasthan and the NCR region.

Issuing a red alert for West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand, the Meteorological Department said that due to the active weather system in the Bay of Bengal, these states are likely to receive heavy rainfall.

The IMD has also issued a red alert for Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, where landslides and flash floods are expected due to heavy to very heavy rains. An orange alert has been issued for Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh, where moderate to heavy rains may occur. The Meteorological Department has said that widespread rain and thundershowers are likely in many parts of the country throughout the coming week, as the monsoon conditions are becoming stronger.
