Name can be included in voter list till last day: State Election Commissioner

Chandigarh, February 11 – Haryana State Election Commissioner Sh. Dhanpat Singh said a person whose name is in the voter list of the Vidhan Sabha constituency but is not included in the ward wise final published list of Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council or Municipality, can get his name included in the voter list by filling Form ‘A’ with the concerned Returning Officer till the last day of filing nomination.

He also said that necessary changes due to transfer from one part of the updated Vidhan Sabha voter list to another part can be included in the relevant Municipal Corporation electoral rolls by following the proper procedure. He further said that if any of the persons who get their name registered on the last day of filing nomination want to contest the election, then he will be allowed to file the nomination.

The Returning Officer will be the competent authority to include the name in the voter list till the last date of filing nomination. The decision taken by the Returning Officer will be final.
