1️⃣ Double Wicket Drama: Two Outs on a Single Ball!
Till now only one batsman could be out on one ball in cricket, but under the new rules two batsmen can be out on the same delivery.
✔ If the striker batsman is caught out and at the same time the non-striker tries to take a run and gets run out, then both will be given out.
✔ This will bring more twists in the match and the batsmen will have to be more cautious.
2️⃣ Dual Run-Out Rule: Both Batsmen Can Be Sent Back at Once!
Till now only one batsman was given run out, but this can be changed in the new rules.
🔹 If both batsmen are out of the crease at the same time, then both can be declared run out.
🔹 This will make the batsmen trying to steal runs more cautious.
3️⃣ Back-to-Back Overs: Bowlers May Get to Bowl Two in a Row!
Till now, after any bowler bowled one over, another bowler had to bowl from the other end, but now this rule can change.
🏏 Possible changes:
✔ Any bowler can be allowed to bowl two consecutive overs from the same end.
✔ That is, a bowler can bowl 12 balls continuously.
✔ This will bring more strategic depth to the match and captains will get new opportunities to change their bowling.
4️⃣ Maiden Over Out: Defensive Batting Could Lead to Dismissal!
In cricket, batsmen often adopt a defensive attitude and avoid playing maiden overs, but this may change in the new rules.
❌ If a batsman plays 6 consecutive balls without scoring a run, he will be considered out.
✅ This will force batsmen to play aggressively and the thrill of cricket will increase.
🚀When Will These Rules Be Implemented?
At present, these rules have not been officially implemented, but according to reports, they will be tried as a trial in Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) next year.
If these rules are successful, then soon ICC can include them in international cricket as well.
