Tourism Budget 2025: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made a big announcement to promote tourism in Union Budget 2025. The government has planned to develop 50 new tourist places, in which the states will also participate. This will strengthen the tourism industry and create new employment opportunities in different parts of the country.
Promotion of skill development and home stay in tourism sector
Skill development programs will be started in collaboration with hospitality management institutes to make the tourism sector more organized and strong. Under this, local youth will be trained so that they can get employment in the tourism industry. At the same time, loan facility will be given for home stay, so that people can make their homes suitable for tourists and earn additional income.
Improvement in travel facilities and visa policies
Travel and contact facilities will be improved to make tourism smooth and attractive. Visa fees will be waived and the e-visa system will be further expanded to make it easier for foreign tourists to come to India.
Medical tourism will get a boost
Medical tourism has also been given special attention in the budget. India is already emerging as a major medical tourism hub, and this initiative of the government will make high quality health services accessible to foreign patients. This will also benefit the country’s economy.
Budget of 20 thousand crores for research and innovation
To develop the tourism industry in line with new technologies and global standards, the government has made a provision of Rs 20 thousand crores for research, development and innovation. This amount will be used to upgrade the infrastructure of tourist places, strengthen digital services and develop new tourist hubs.
