Monsoon is fully active in Himachal Pradesh these days and it is raining heavily continuously. The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of heavy rain for the next few days, in view of which people have been advised to be very cautious.
Torrential rains are expected in many districts of the state today and tomorrow (July 10 and 11). However, some relief from rain is expected on July 12, but this relief will be only for a short time. According to the Meteorological Department, a heavy rain alert has been issued in Himachal once again from July 13 to 15.
Where will it rain today?
Today, on July 10, rain is expected in many parts of Himachal Pradesh. Light to moderate rains with lightning are likely in some areas of Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Solan, Shimla and Sirmaur districts. Apart from this, light to moderate rain may also occur at some places in Chamba and Kangra districts. Light rain is expected at isolated places in the rest of the districts of the state as well.
Effect of weather
Due to continuous rain, a drop in temperature has been recorded in the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh. Yesterday (July 9), the lowest minimum temperature of 11.1 degrees Celsius was recorded in Keylong, which has increased the cold. At the same time, the maximum temperature in Neri was 35.0 degrees Celsius.
What precautions should be taken?
In this changing and deteriorating weather, everyone needs to be extra careful.
For farmers: Use nets to protect fruit gardens from strong winds. Also take necessary measures to keep your crops safe.
For the general public and tourists: Limit outdoor activities in areas where there is a possibility of bad weather. Stay in safe places and stay indoors. Do not go to the banks of rivers and streams at all, as the water level may rise rapidly and there may be a risk of flood.
Before travelling: Follow all the guidelines issued by the state government. Before planning any journey, definitely check the weather forecast. Get information from the local administration or police about the condition of the road on which you are going to travel. Only then travel safely.
