Sharda University girl dies by suicide: ‘If I die, PCP and dental medical teachers will be responsible for it. Mahendra Sir and Shayra Maam are responsible for my death. They mentally harassed me, insulted me. I have been in depression for a long time because of them.
I want them to also have to endure the same. Sorry… I can’t live anymore.’ These words were written by Jyoti Sharma, a student of Sharda University in Greater Noida, in her suicide note. She committed suicide by hanging herself at 7 pm on Friday.
The body of the student was found hanging from the fan in the room on the 12th floor of the girls hostel Mandela. The incident came to light when a fellow student went near the room. When she looked, the door was closed inside. When she pushed the door, it opened, then she informed the police and the warden.
As soon as the news of Jyoti’s suicide spread, the students gathered and started creating a ruckus. They took out a procession and raised slogans against the university administration. The students also had an altercation with the police who arrived on the information.

Know the whole matter
21-year-old Jyoti Sharma, a BDS second year student, was a resident of Gurugram. According to the students, 3 other students live with Jyoti on the 12th floor of the hostel. Jyoti was alone in the room on Friday evening. Her fellow students had gone out.
Around 7 pm, a student came. When she saw, the door of the room was locked from inside. The student told the police that the door opened after she pushed it twice. When she looked, Jyoti was hanging from the noose, then she informed the warden and other students about it.

Jyoti was expelled from the department for 3 days
The students said – Jyoti was accused of making a fake signature, due to which she was very upset. She was expelled from the PCP department for three consecutive days on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The file was given to the HOD.
HOD sir had said – call your parents, you signed the file yourself. Jyoti got her file back only when her parents came on Monday. She was crying a lot on Friday evening. She was being threatened of failing. Students said- how can anyone bear so much torture?
