Schools closed on 28, 29, and 30 January in UP; District Magistrate’s order

Schools Closed for 3 Days in Uttar Pradesh. An important decision has been taken for schools in Prayagraj district keeping in mind the Amrit Snan on Mauni Amavasya under Mahakumbh 2025. All schools from class 1 to 8 will remain closed on 28, 29 and 30 January. This order has been issued on the instructions of the District Magistrate and it includes all types of schools like government, aided, council, and private institutions.

Reason behind school closure

Mauni Amavasya, which is the main bathing festival of Mahakumbh 2025, is falling on 29 January. In view of the arrival of a large number of devotees in Prayagraj and traffic system, this step has been taken to avoid inconvenience to the students. Keeping in mind the traffic pressure and security reasons, the District Magistrate has taken this decision.

Key information of the order

On the instructions of the District Magistrate, District Basic Education Officer (BSA) Praveen Kumar Tiwari issued this order. Under this:

All schools will remain closed from 28 to 30 January.

The order will be applicable for students from class 1 to 8.

Schools of all boards (both English and Hindi medium) will follow this instruction.

Improvement in the system

Special traffic management has been done in the city for the pilgrims coming due to a big event like Maha Kumbh. The purpose of keeping the schools closed is that the students and their parents do not face any kind of problem. During this time, the administration will be fully active to control the crowd and traffic.

Notice sent to officials

This information has been given by the BSA to all the block education officers, managers and principals of the schools. Along with this, instructions have also been given to implement this order.

Preparations for bathing festival in Prayagraj

In view of the importance of Mauni Amavasya, the administration is paying special attention to the arrangements in the Kumbh area and surrounding areas. In view of passenger facilities, the administration is taking additional measures to run the local institutions and services smoothly.

After this order, the students of the area will not face any difficulty in commuting to and from school during these three days.
