Schools closed in many districts of UP including Prayagraj-Bareilly, DM issued orders due to cold

Devotees are flocking to the Sangam for a holy dip during the Maha Kumbh. The government and local administration are ensuring all facilities for visitors. Approximately 25 million pilgrims bathed during Makar Sankranti. To manage transportation needs, all schools up to Class 12 in the district will remain closed on Wednesday. This directive has been issued by the District School Inspector. DIOS P.N. Singh stated that the order applies to schools affiliated with all boards.

Parishadiya Schools to Reopen from Today

After the winter vacation, parishadiya primary and upper primary schools across Uttar Pradesh will reopen from Wednesday. These schools were closed for winter vacations from December 31 to Tuesday. Classes will now resume as per schedule.

Basic Education Director Pratap Singh Baghel has instructed all district basic education officers to ensure that schools open and close on time. School hours will be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. In districts experiencing severe cold, district magistrates can decide on school closures based on local weather conditions.

School Closed in Bareilly

In Bareilly, schools up to Class 8 will remain closed on January 15 due to extreme cold and dense fog. District Basic Education Officer Sanjay Singh informed that the closure applies to parishadiya, aided, recognized, UP Board, CBSE, ICSE, and madrasa schools.

Schools to Reopen in Badaun on January 17

The cold wave in Badaun continues unabated. To protect students from extreme weather, school holidays have been extended. Schools up to Class 8 will reopen on January 17. District Magistrate Nidhi Srivastava directed District Basic Education Officer Virendra Kumar Singh to extend holidays for January 15 and 16 for parishadiya, CBSE, and ICSE schools. Schools for Classes 9-12 will operate from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM until January 18 due to the weather conditions.

Schools in Moradabad Closed Till January 16

In Moradabad, freezing weather has disrupted daily life, with citizens hesitant to step outside. Schools up to Class 8 will remain closed until January 16. Earlier, the DM had ordered closures until January 14, but this has now been extended. District Basic Education Officer Vimlesh Kumar confirmed that all schools in this category, including government and private institutions, will follow the directive.

Rampur Declares Holiday for Schools Up to Class 8

In Rampur, the weather took a sudden turn, with dense fog blanketing the area all day. The lack of sunlight has increased the chill, causing significant inconvenience. District Magistrate Joginder Singh announced a holiday for schools up to Class 8 on January 15.

Tuesday’s temperature ranged from a low of 8°C to a high of 19°C. After clear weather on Monday, the sudden change on Tuesday, accompanied by fog, intensified the cold, making it difficult for people to step outdoors. Following the DM’s order, all schools under different boards have been instructed to comply.

In Bahjoi, District Basic Education Officer Alka Sharma announced that, as per the DM’s directive, all schools up to Class 8, including nursery, will remain closed on January 15 and 16 due to cold weather. This includes parishadiya, aided, recognized schools, UP Board, CBSE, ICSE, and Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls’ Schools. This step aims to provide relief to students in the biting cold. School authorities have been instructed to comply with the directive.
