Renault to launch New version of Renault kwid ev 2026

Renault is preparing to launch a version of its smallest electric car Kwid ev in India soon. Recently the testing model of this car has been seen on Indian roads. This car will be Renault’s first electric car in India and is also considered to be the company’s cheapest electric car. Renault was planning to launch this car in the Indian market for a long time. Earlier also its prototype model was displayed at the Auto Expo a few years ago. Now again the testing model of Kwid Electric has been seen on the road. It is believed that this will be a new version of the Dacia Spring EV sold in Europe, just like the petrol Kwid.

The Kwid electric version was first launched in China in 2019 as City K-ZE. After this, in 2021 it was introduced in Europe as Dacia Spring EV. At the same time, it is being sold in Latin America as Renault Kwid E-Tech Electric.

Design and features of the new Kwid EV

In the testing model, the exterior look of the Kwid Electric looks similar to the petrol Kwid. The difference is that its body base is slightly higher and the gap between the tire and wheel arch is more visible. At present, the full view of the front part of the car is not available. Pictures of the inside of the car are not yet available, but it is expected that it will be given a 10-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, as is found in the Dacia Spring EV. In terms of safety, features like emergency calling, ABS, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), 6 airbags, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and ISOFIX child seat mount can be found in it.

Power and battery information

Like the European model Dacia Spring EV, the Kwid EV is likely to get a 26.8 kWh battery and a 33 kW front-wheel drive motor. This car will accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in about 19.2 seconds. Also, it will have fast charging facility, due to which the battery will be charged from 20% to 80% in just 45 minutes. On full charging, this car will be able to cover a distance of about 225 kilometers and its top speed will be around 125 kilometers per hour.
