Rain Alert: This year, winter has been unusually mild across India compared to previous years. Major regions like Delhi-NCR and several other states have not experienced the typical biting cold of January and February. Unlike past years, dense fog has been rare, and thunderstorms have been largely absent. While mornings and evenings remain slightly chilly in February, the bright sunshine during the day is making temperatures feel much warmer than usual. Over the past week, Delhi-NCR has been experiencing cool winds in the mornings and evenings.
IMD Weather Forecast and Updates
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has ruled out any major weather changes until February 15. However:
✔ Dense fog is expected in West Bengal and Odisha.
✔ Light rainfall and snowfall may occur in Himachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh.
✔ Due to an active Western Disturbance, light snowfall may be observed in Jammu & Kashmir, while the plains could witness rain showers.
Heavy Rainfall & Stormy Winds Expected in These States
A Western Disturbance over northern Afghanistan is currently altering wind patterns. Additionally, powerful winds moving from west to east at 12.6 km above sea level over Rajasthan and northeastern Bangladesh have reached speeds of 203 km/h.
As a result of these weather patterns, the following regions may experience significant weather changes:
🌨 February 10-11: Light rain and snowfall expected in Western Himalayan regions.
🌨 Until February 15: Arunachal Pradesh likely to experience light rain and snowfall.
⛈ February 11-13: Northeastern states may witness thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall.
❄ Until February 14: Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim may experience scattered rainfall and snowfall.
🌧 February 10-14: Rainfall is expected in Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
🌫 Until February 15: Dense fog is predicted in Gangetic West Bengal and southern Odisha, particularly in the mornings and evenings.
Delhi-NCR Weather Update

The winter season has been quite unusual for Delhi-NCR, with less fog and weaker cold waves than usual. While daytime sunshine gives a warm feeling, cool winds continue to flow in the mornings and evenings.
✔ On Sunday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 27.4°C and a minimum of 7.8°C, which is 4.1°C above normal.
✔ No significant weather changes are expected in the coming days.
