A yellow alert has been issued in the state today regarding dense fog and cold wave. However, no fog or cold wave alert has been issued for the next days. Despite this, continuous rain is expected in Punjab for 3 days.

Yellow alert issued in these districts

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala and S.A.S. Nagar. In particular, drivers have been advised to drive carefully in dense fog. Along with this, warnings have also been issued regarding cold wave in districts like Pathankot, Faridkot, Moga, Ferozepur and Kapurthala.

Punjab Rain forecast for three days

Due to the activation of Western Disturbance from January 29, snowfall is predicted in Himachal Pradesh, which will also affect Punjab. These cold winds may increase the cold in the state. There is a possibility of rain in Pathankot, Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur and other districts from January 30 to February 1. Due to this, the temperature may drop in many parts of Punjab.
