Punjab government is making continuous efforts to further raise the level of school education. In this episode, School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has announced that 36 Punjab schools principals will be sent to Singapore for a five-day training.
7th batch of 36 principals will go to Singapore in March 2025
Minister informed that so far 198 principals and education officers have received training from the Principals Academy of Singapore under the “Leadership Development Program”. In this sequence, the seventh batch of 36 principals will go to Singapore in March 2025. To conduct this international training smoothly, “International Education Affairs Cell (IEAC)” has been set up under the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT).
Eligibility criteria have also been fixed for this training. The age of the candidate should not be more than 53 years as on January 31, 2025 and he must have a valid Indian passport till September 2025. Also, there should not be any charge sheet, investigation or criminal case pending against the candidate. Eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of merit, taking into account academic qualifications, experience, Annual Confidential Report (ACR) and awards.
Harjot Singh Bains said that this training has been designed to enhance the leadership capacity and educational skills of the principals. In Singapore, they will participate in various workshops, seminars and activities, where they will be exposed to advanced teaching techniques and educational practices.
This international tour will inspire the principals to adopt the latest innovations and strategies in education. This will enable them to implement modern teaching methods in their schools, which will improve the level of education in the schools of the state and strengthen the teaching-training process.
