There is good news for the youth seeking government jobs in Punjab. The Punjab government has announced a large number of new recruitments. Punjab Power and Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said that 4,864 new recruitments will be made in Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) during the financial year 2025-26. He also informed that a total of 6,586 youths have been recruited in PSPCL and Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL) since April 2022.
Handing over appointment letters to 35 assistant engineers on Tuesday, the minister said that out of these, 4,444 youths have been given jobs through direct recruitment in PSPCL and 782 in PSTCL. Apart from this, 1,360 people have been appointed on compassionate grounds. The aim of the government is to give more employment opportunities to the youth and ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people of the state by strengthening the human resources of the power department.
The 35 assistant engineers appointed include 22 electronics and communication experts and 13 electrical engineers. Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO interacted with the candidates and inquired about their educational qualifications and work preferences. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, more than 50,000 youth have been given employment since March 2022.
