BJP had promised in its manifesto during the Delhi Assembly elections that poor women of the capital will be given financial assistance of Rs 2500 every month. Today a big announcement has been made on this promise.
To empower financially weak women in Delhi, the government is going to give women a monthly help of Rs 2500. The cabinet has approved the Mahila Samriddhi Scheme. Under this scheme, this amount will be sent to the accounts of women of Delhi. Under this scheme, 15 to 20 lakh women of Delhi will get benefit.

The Delhi government will give this benefit to women with household income less than Rs 3 lakh per year, who do not pay tax. So that these women can become financially self-reliant. BJP had promised in its manifesto during the Delhi Assembly elections that poor women of the capital will be given financial assistance of Rs 2500 every month. The date of registration has not been officially announced. It is expected that its date can be announced soon.
Application for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana
The Delhi government is developing an online portal where women can register for this scheme (Mahila Samriddhi Scheme Registration). According to the Indian Express report, all the filled forms will be verified by a separate software, which is being developed to identify women eligible for this scheme. The government has also sought data from different state departments to identify beneficiaries.
Who will get the benefit of this scheme?
This scheme of Rs 2500 is especially for those women whose annual household income is less than Rs 3 lakh and who do not pay tax.
Women who do not do government jobs and are between 18 and 60 years of age can also apply for this scheme.
Under this scheme, those women have also been included who do not get any other financial assistance from the government.
The applicant must be a resident of Delhi for at least five years before applying.
The applicant must have a single bank account in Delhi, which is linked to their Aadhaar number.
Income certificate from the SDM of the area or any other authorized officer of the Revenue Department for income up to Rs 3 lakh per annum.
Which documents will be required
There is no official update yet on which documents are required for registration of the scheme, but applicants may need things like Aadhaar card, BPL ration card, residence certificate, income certificate and mobile number. Also, the application can also be linked to Aadhaar on the portal.
