Jewar International Airport will start operating from April

Jewar International Airport is set to become Asia’s largest airport, with regular operations expected to begin in April 2025. The Minister for Civil Aviation, Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, shared this update in the Rajya Sabha. He highlighted the excitement of airlines, including Air India and Indigo, about the airport’s potential to enhance global connectivity. Additionally, he mentioned that the airport’s location near the Noida Expressway would ensure efficient road connectivity.

The UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme, aimed at making air travel affordable and accessible, will also be extended for another ten years, with plans to develop 100 more airports across India. The Kushinagar airport is also expected to open soon, with the government actively working on it.
