Jaya Ekadashi is considered to be of special importance in Hinduism. This day is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. According to the Hindu calendar, Ekadashi fast is observed twice every month – on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha. Keeping this fast liberates one from all sins, fulfills wishes and receives the blessings of Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi. On this day, fasting, bhajan-kirtan and puja-paath have great importance.

Jaya Ekadashi Vrat Puja Vidhi
Bath and Sankalp: Wake up in the morning and take a bath, meditate on Lord Vishnu and take a vow to fast.
Purification of house and place of worship: Sprinkle Gangajal all over the house and place of worship.
Prepare Puja Samagri: Install the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu and offer incense, lamp, fruits, Panchamrit etc.
Special Puja: Decorate Lord Vishnu with yellow clothes and sandalwood and chant Vishnu Sahasranama.
Vrat Katha and Paath: Read Jaya Ekadashi Vrat Katha and study Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta.
Fasting and Night Jagran: Keep a waterless or fruit-eating fast throughout the day and do Bhajan-Kirtan by staying awake at night.
Paran (breaking the fast): Complete the fast the next day by giving food and charity to the needy.
