The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued strict instructions to students, parents, teachers and examination officials for the 10th and 12th board examinations starting from February 15. The board has made these rules mandatory to ensure the fairness of the examination process and to protect the academic interests of the students.
According to the CBSE guidelines, carrying mobile phones, electronic devices, or any prohibited items in the examination hall is strictly prohibited. If caught doing so, the student may be barred from appearing in the examination for 2 years. Along with this, if any student is found involved in spreading rumors related to the examination, he will also be given strict punishment, which will include suspension from the current and next year’s examinations.
Strict monitoring: CCTV at all centers
CBSE has directed to install CCTV cameras at all examination centers. These cameras will monitor every activity in the examination hall, and they will be monitored by the Assistant Superintendent. The board has also made schools responsible for ensuring that they make students and parents aware of the rules and guidelines.
List of banned items
The following items will not be allowed in the examination hall:
Stationery and electronic devices:
Text material (printed or written), calculator (except for special requirement), pen drive, scanner, etc.
Communication devices:
Mobile phones, Bluetooth, earphones, smart watches, health bands, cameras.
Other items:
Wallets, goggles, pouches, handbags.
Food items:
Only students suffering from diabetes will be allowed to eat.
Advice to avoid rumors
CBSE has advised students and parents to ignore rumors related to the exam and avoid spreading them. Also, schools have been directed to give detailed information to the students about the examination rules and the penalties applicable on violations.

This step of CBSE is to ensure fairness and transparency of the examination. Through strict regulations and technical monitoring, the Board wants to ensure that every student gets an equal opportunity to appear in the examination without any hindrance.
