A professor had even said that students can celebrate Holi inside their rooms, they have been celebrating like this earlier also. But this matter became quite controversial, some leaders even linked it with Hindu faith. When the pressure continued, Aligarh Muslim University had to step back and now Holi is going to be organized on 13 and 14 March.

The big thing is that BJP MP Satish Gautam had clearly said that whoever stops playing Holi will be sent to the top. At the same time, Hindu students of MAU were also arguing that when Moharam Onam can be celebrated in the university, then why not Holi. Akhil Kaushal, a law student, was the first to write a letter to the management with this complaint.
By the way, politics on this matter had started when former Congress MLA Vivek Bansal had said that BJP people are deliberately raising the issue of Holi in MAU and this is completely unfortunate.
