Punjab: Alert released in Jalandhar tonight 10pm to 6am

Jalandhar Punjab alert: New orders have been issued in view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan. Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur, exercising the powers vested under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023, has banned the blowing of horns in the silence zone, except in public emergencies, in view of the prevention of noise pollution in the city.

The Police Commissioner has issued orders that there is a ban on blowing horns from 10 pm to 6 am. Along with this, orders have been given to keep the volume of sound on the Jalandhar borders as per the volume prescribed for the area. The Police Commissioner said that there is a strict ban on playing drums, DJ, amplifier etc. in marriage palaces and hotels from 10 pm to 6 am. At the same time, the noise level of private sound systems should not exceed 5 dB (A) of the noise standards prescribed for the private border area. The said orders will remain in force till July 5.

The orders also state that in case of vehicles having music systems, it should be ensured that the sound is not heard outside the vehicle at any time. If these orders are found to be violated, the sound system will be confiscated.
