Chandigarh, February 11 – Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, said that the National Education Policy 2020 will be implemented in Haryana this year. Efforts are underway to further enhance the education level for the 22 lakh students across 14 thousand government schools in the state. As part of this initiative, the transfer of about one lakh teachers will be ensured by May 31, 2025, in accordance with the Teacher Transfer Policy.
He further said that teachers will be given preference for transfers to schools within the block of their district to further improve the examination results of government schools. The process of rationalizing posts has already begun and will be completed by March 7. He said that in the first phase, teachers will be transferred to PM Shri and Model Sanskriti schools followed by transfer to all other schools.
The Education Minister was presiding over a review meeting with officials of the School Education Department here today. During the meeting, the progress of constructing labs, classrooms, and boundary walls for 1,497 PM Shri, Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary, and High Schools across the state was reviewed. A budget will be allocated for these schools to ensure that the work is completed by March 2026. Additionally, arrangements will be made for Computer Labs, Atal Tinkering Labs, Vocational Labs, and Open Gyms in the schools.
Education Minister, Sh Mahipal Dhanda, directed officers to ensure better playgrounds and sports equipment for students in government schools. He directed that letter be sent to all principals, seeking a report on the condition of the school playgrounds, details on the medals won by students in various sports, and the contributions of PTIs and DPEs in training athletes. He further stated that teachers with poor performance will be closely monitored, and he will personally oversee this process.
The Education Minister stated that more science labs will be established in schools to provide promising students with the opportunity to showcase their talent. He also emphasized that efforts will be made to enhance the artistic and craft skills of students.
Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Sh. Pankaj Agarwal, Director, Secondary Education Department, Sh. Jitender Kumar, and other officials were present at the meeting.
