Haj Registration: Saudi Arabian government has made a big announcement regarding the Haj pilgrimage. This time Haj pilgrims will not be allowed to take children with them. Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah has issued this order, stating that there is a huge crowd during Haj and Umrah and in this situation there can be a big threat to the safety of children. This decision has been taken for security reasons. Also, priority for Haj pilgrimage will be given to those who are going to perform Haj for the first time.
Haj registration process started
Registration for Haj pilgrimage has started for Saudi citizens. This registration can be done through “Nusuk App” and official online portal. Haj pilgrims have to verify their information and if any special exemption is required, then they have to apply for it as well. Haj packages are also available on the Nusuk app, which passengers can choose according to their convenience. E-wallet facility has also been provided to make the payment process easier.
Special facility for Saudi citizens
The government has announced a special facility for the local citizens of Saudi Arabia. The Haj package can now be paid in three installments. 20% of the amount has to be deposited within 72 hours of booking as the first installment. After this, the second and third installments will be of 40-40%. The ministry has clarified that the booking will be confirmed only after the full amount is paid. A receipt will also be issued after each payment.
Changes made in visa rules

The Saudi Arabian government has also changed the visa rules this year, which will affect 14 other countries including India. Under the new rules, people coming from these countries will only be provided “single entry visa”. This rule has been implemented so that unauthorized Haj pilgrimage can be stopped. Earlier, people with multiple entry visas used to start Haj pilgrimage without permission, which increased the crowd and caused difficulty in management.
Single entry visa means that travellers will be allowed to enter Saudi Arabia only once, while long-term visa holders can visit the same country multiple times. The main objective of this change is to control the crowd and streamline the Haj pilgrimage.
What will change with the new rules?
Safety of children will be ensured – By not allowing young children to join the Haj pilgrimage, their safety will be ensured.
Priority to first-time Haj pilgrims – This will give new Haj pilgrims a chance and make the Haj experience more organised.
Streamlined payment system – Saudi citizens will be allowed to pay for the Haj package in installments, which will reduce financial pressure.
Controlling chaos through visa rules – Implementation of single entry visa will help in crowd control and stop those who perform Haj without authorisation.
