Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made several important announcements to strengthen the education sector in Budget 2025. Indian government has planned to provide state-of-the-art facilities to promote higher education, technical development and skill training.
Medical and Technical Education
It has been announced in the budget that 10,000 new medical seats will be added in the next one year. Apart from this, the government aims to add 75,000 medical seats in the next 5 years, which will increase the number of doctors in the country and improve health services. Along with this, IIT Patna will be expanded, which will benefit the students of Bihar and eastern India with high quality technical education.
Artificial Intelligence and Skill Development
To advance India in the technical field, the government will set up a state-of-the-art AI (Artificial Intelligence) institute with a budget of Rs 500 crore. This institute will promote innovation, research and digital development. Apart from this, 5 National Skill Centres will be set up, where students and professionals will be trained according to the needs of various industries.
Higher education in Indian languages
Central government has planned to provide books in Indian languages for school and higher education, which will help students studying in rural and regional languages. This will promote higher education in Indian languages and make studies easier for students.
Number of teachers in IITs will increase
To improve the quality of education across the country, the government has decided to increase the number of teachers in 23 IIT institutes. This will improve the level of studies in these prestigious institutes and students will get better guidance.
Technical education in food processing
Union budget also announced that special courses and training programs will be started to promote knowledge of food processing technology. This will promote innovation in this sector and create new employment opportunities.
MSME: investment limit will increase and more loan will be available
