The state government will now provide 51 thousand rupees to the fishermen as shagun, so that there is no hindrance in the marriage of their daughters.

Under this scheme, fisheries families will be given assistance of Rs 51 thousand in the marriage of every daughter. Out of this, Rs 35,000 will be deposited in the girl’s account and Rs 16,000 will be given for marriage expenses. This facility will be available to those fishermen whose annual income is less than two lakh rupees and who have been engaged in fisheries for more than a year.

This scheme is especially for those fishermen whose financial condition is weak. People of 13 castes will be benefited in this, which includes castes like Kewat, Aakhetak, Mallah, Nishad, Bind.
