Delhi Schools Closed: With the implementation of GRAP III restrictions in Delhi-NCR, schools have been given the option to switch to hybrid learning for students up to Grade 5. This means that parents and students can choose between online and offline education, depending on the availability of facilities in their respective schools.
As air pollution levels rise, many schools in Delhi-NCR have voluntarily shifted to online classes, prioritizing students’ health. However, it’s important to note that there is no official order for complete school closure. Students are advised to stay updated with their school administration for the latest information regarding class schedules.
GRAP III & School Decisions
Earlier this month, the Delhi Directorate of Education had already introduced hybrid classes for students up to Class IX and XI when GRAP IV was implemented. Now, with GRAP III in effect, schools for younger students (up to Grade 5) are required to offer hybrid learning as an option.
What is GRAP III & Why Was It Implemented?
The Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) is activated in stages based on Air Quality Index (AQI) levels. With AQI touching 365, the Centre has enforced Stage 3 restrictions due to unfavorable meteorological conditions causing a surge in pollution levels.
GRAP III Restrictions: What’s Banned?
🚫 BS-III Petrol & BS-IV Diesel Cars: The use of these vehicles is restricted in Delhi and nearby NCR districts.
🚫 Non-Essential Diesel Medium Goods Vehicles: Diesel-operated medium goods vehicles with BS-IV or older standards are banned in Delhi.
