School Closed 29 January Mouni Amavasya: On the occasion of Mouni Amavasya, there will be a holiday in all board schools from class 1 to 8 in Prayagraj on 28, 29, and 30 January. The District Magistrate took this decision keeping in mind the security and traffic system, so that the students do not have any problem in participating in the bathing festival.

School Closed in Prayagraj: This time in 2025, the bathing festival of Mouni Amavasya will be celebrated on 28, 29 and 30 January. Lakhs of people will gather in many areas of North India including Prayagraj to take bath in holy rivers. The administration has made necessary preparations for this religious occasion and the District Magistrate (DM) has issued an order that there will be a holiday in all schools from class 1 to 8 during Mouni Amavasya.

The District Magistrate said that this step has been taken keeping in view the safety of the students and traffic arrangements during Mouni Amavasya. So that they do not face any hindrance in attending this important festival and they can be a part of this event without any problem.

Importance of Mauni Amavasya:

This is a major festival of Hinduism, in which devotees come to take bath especially at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati in Prayagraj. This day has special significance, it is believed that bathing on this day destroys sins and attains virtue. Many people do sadhna and meditation by fasting on this day.

Reason for holiday in Prayagraj:

Lakhs of devotees come to Prayagraj to take bath on this day, and the administration has decided that the schools will be kept closed, so that the students do not face any inconvenience. Also, this step has been taken due to increasing crowd and traffic system in the city. The administration has strengthened the security arrangements and police force has been deployed at the bathing ghats.

The District Magistrate has declared a holiday in all board schools from class 1 to 8 on January 28, 29 and 30, which will be applicable in all government and private schools.
