Delhi Schools Reopen: Winter Holidays Over, All Schools in Delhi Open From Today; Timings Changed for Some Schools

New Delhi: All government, aided, and private schools in the capital will reopen from today. The winter holidays, which lasted from January 1 to January 15, 2025, concluded on Thursday. However, due to cold weather, cold waves, and fog, several schools have modified their timings.

Several school principals stated that schools would open an hour later than usual. They also mentioned that pre-board exams for students of grades 10 and 12 would commence a few days after reopening. Additionally, students will be prepared for the board practical examinations.

Schools to Open an Hour Late Due to Cold Weather

Veena Mishra, the principal of National Victor Public School in IP Extension, said that due to fog and cold, the school timings would be adjusted. Previously, the school opened at 7:30 AM, but now it will operate from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

Ajay Arora, Chairman of the Holy Group of Schools, announced that all classes would resume from Thursday. He stated that considering the cold weather, the school timings would be from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Evergreen School to Open at 9:00 AM and Close at 3:00 PM

Priyanka Gulati, principal of Evergreen Public School located in Vasundhara Enclave, shared that to ensure the convenience of students in cold weather, the school would open at 9:00 AM, and classes would conclude by 3:00 PM.
