This year in 2025, there will be 60 days holiday in government schools of Jharkhand. The education department has released a calendar regarding this. This holiday schedule will be applicable in all categories of schools i.e. primary, secondary and plus two schools.
Winter holiday from 28 December to 31 December
As per the holiday schedule released by the department, there will be summer vacation from 22 May to 2 June. After this, there will be winter vacation from 28 December to 31 December. It has been said that according to the weather conditions, the winter and summer holidays can be amended by the departmental secretary and deputy commissioner and additional holidays can be decided. The 60-day holidays in government schools also include 5 days of holidays, which will be decided at the district level keeping in mind the state festival or other requirement at the local level. This holiday schedule will not apply to residential schools.
Weekly holiday on Friday in Urdu schools
Urdu schools notified by the department will have weekly holiday on Friday instead of Sunday. Holidays for Muslim festivals can be changed according to the sighting of the moon. At the same time, national festivals will be organised compulsorily in schools. Children will not participate in parades or rallies on any other occasion. If there is any programme or function on the instructions of the centre or department, it will be organised after 3 pm.
